In case you missed it, my real point is, or was, that Bull Fighting is for the spectators. The splendor and pomp is for the spectators. The word "Fight" is a misnomer. It is really the execution of a bovine, in that, the bull has little or no chance of survival.

|||Because the audience isn't. It's a bright flashy colour, so everyone can see what the matador is doing. It's a performance, remember.
As for why it's consistently red, that's just tradition. Besides, they are other colours too sometimes, like the pink and yellow ones:

the cape isnt really used to tease the bull its really there to confuse it into thinking theyre much bigger than they really are so the bull goes charging for the wrong part of them.|||tradition i would think. its said that red makes them angry.|||dont know
