in the US,,, back in the early 1900s.... a red lantern was hung to warn oncoming trains of another train stopped.... for whatever reason.|||red is visible from very far, and alongwith that other than grn or other color red is bold to see from far also. red is something alert type of color. so red is shown at level crossing that "be alert when cross the level crossing".|||b coz Red Colour has the least dispersion in the air %26amp; when you look at it from far away it looks more concentrated than other colours, thats why Railway %26amp; other agnecies uses it as signal as you can see it even whn ur far away frm the spot...|||to show the danger to death
