Belorussian Flag red on white flag origin doesn't make sense?

"when the united armies of Poland and the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, defeated the Germans of the Teutonic Order at the Battle of Grunwald. According to this tradition, a wounded Belarusian knight tore off a blood soaked bandage and raised it as a banner of victory"

What was the Belorussian knight doing there ?

Why is the Belorussian army not mentioned with Poland and Lithuania ?|||Lithuania, Belarus and Ukraine were one country there called Grand Duchy of Lithuania. The majority of the country's citizens were Belarusians and the state language was Old-Belarusian. Modern Lithuania state just took over the name.
