Does anyone know about the Star Spangled Banner?

"The rockets red glare, the bombs bursting in air..." Everyone knows this famous line, but what did this really look like? I'm doing a painting which depicts this famous night, and I want it to be authentic. Can anyone describe what this looked like? Could you link a picture possibly? I've searched around but I cant find anything that seems to fit the description properly.|||It very likely looked exactly like what Francis Scott Key was seeing when he wrote the SSB. He was being detained on an English vessel in the Baltimore Harbor. A battle between English ships and American on-land military raged all the night that Key was detained on the ship. He could hardly wait until the dawn to see if the US flag still flew over Ft. McHenry. If it did, that would mean the US forces won the battle.|||The bombs bursting in air part is extremely similar to our modern day fireworks.

That is actually why we started using fireworks to celebrate.

The black powder mixed with the bombs made of iron and early metal caused the colorful explosions.

So any picture of fireworks would help you out a lot!

Rockets red glare is the fire that lit the fuses.
