Actually, it is a Website for a local Swim Club, and I would like to have the ability on the front page to put a "banner" saying Pool open or closed if weather issue. Kind of a green/red Flag Banner that a lifeguard could change at will by accessing my web-site in a simple way. I was contemplating adding a Chat with a Update Live Message but is there an easier way to do it more efficiently?|||Very easy way, a small database or xml file with a programming language.
with a backend and frontend:
the frontend would be the section you want it dynamic the backend where the admin can add the status of the pool and any other information.
Please can you tell me what server your site on? (linux or windows?)
if its linux its need to be done with php and if its windows asp or asp.net.
now if you want something quick and dirty then you can make a page included to the main page and upload this page with an ftp also it can be done like that.
